Stags on Tour – Bradgate Park, Leicestershire

If you have never been to Bradgate Park, Newton Winford Leicestershire, then perhaps one day when you’re visiting the East Midlands, go pay it it a visit.  You won’t be disappointed. The park itself is steeped in 100’s of years of history being the ancestral home of Lady Jane Grey (Nine Day Queen –  before Henry VIII’s, eldest daughter Mary, beheaded Jane at the age of 16 to take back the Catholic power and become Queen).   Although the home is merely ruins, the park is full of beautiful deer with stunning walks and scenery.

The photos on my blog today – were taken during a Ranger tour of the Park during the Stag Rut.  Unfortunately, I saw no rutting but to get up as close as we did was a truly amazing experience I will never forget!
