Well after month’s of planning, the day finally came for Charlotte and Paul to finally get hitched! It was my first time shooting a wedding at The Priest House in Castle Donington, Derbyshire. When I arrived it was raining really heavily so firstly before I met up with Charlotte, I scouted the venue for group shot locations, should the rain cease to ease by 3.30pm. This was my third wedding of being the boss!
Photographing the bridal preparations is probably my favourite part of the day before the ceremony. I love how it just flows so naturally, as the excitement and nerves grow stronger. I am simply there to document, no interfering, forever ready with the camera – well as ready as I can be! I always work with a second shooter to cover even more of the day. It just means that I can stay with the bride and the other can have fun with the groomsmen be it catching drinks or the last minute preparations, not always practical if distance is an issue but if it’s all at the same venue, easy! I just loved Charlotte’s slim fitting dress – I knew from the pre-wedding shoot that she wasn’t a bride who wanted the full skirt. For Charlotte, she made the perfect choice – it was gorgeous! Anyway, enough rambling from me, let’s see a selection of photos from the day! I had a brilliant time, Charlotte and Paul just such a lovely couple, so in love as you can clearly see and it was great to be a part of their day. Yes, the rain stopped and we got outside :).
