Church Wedding at Hoar Cross Hall

Hello, I have one lovely Staffordshire wedding to share on the blog today which took place at the Holy Angels Church and Hoar Cross Hall Hotel & Spa, near Rangemoor and Needwood. Being a wedding photographer in Staffordshire, it was nice to cover a local wedding.

Wedding Details

It was Christmas themed  as is was December with tables all named from the Twelve Days of Christmas, Christmas trees and good old fashioned winter weather of frost and fog!   The bride wore a beautiful lace covered a-line dress with a sparkly belt, converse shoes and faux fur jacket to keep her warm.  As the bride’s parents were Scottish, there were a good few kilts and a Bagpiper.  The bridesmaids dressed in black dress with white faux fur jackets with the flower girls wearing Ivory dresses and faux fur muffs for their hands.

Second Shooting

I love second shooting weddings.  The day began with me attending the groom’s house in Stretton near Burton-Upon-Trent to capture some groom preps working as a second shooter, on behalf of the main photographer Carrie Jackson, who was photographing the bride over at Hoar Cross Hall in Staffordshire.  It was very relaxed and I just document moments that happen.  I love details too and just because it’s the groom, I make sure I capture details as I would do if it were the bride.

I then went the church to take photographs of the guests arriving and meet with Carrie where the ceremony would take place. Upon arrival, I was met with the Bagpiper in traditional attire and it was so chilly and I was wearing warm clothing and even I felt cold, the church on the other hand was toasty! One thing I love about Christmas weddings especially church ones is that it’s the only time of year you get to sing beautiful Christmas Carols.

So after the ceremony it was time to head back to Hoar Cross Hall for some Hot Chocolate served outside from a gorgeous vintage van.  Group photos were then done and I went off to cover the room decor, leaving Carrie to do the couple shots and groups. Then it was time for the speeches and before we knew it, the first dance.  It was a really beautiful wedding at Hoar Cross Hall and one great opportunity to document another wedding.   I hope I get to go back there in the future!
