I love being a dog photographer for many reasons really. I love dogs, I have two of my own and enjoy exploring and walking. I don’t have a problem with getting dirty and I get stuck in be it lying on the floor of sitting in mud, I just love photographing dogs.
I’m based just 40 minutes from the Peak District in beautiful rural Derbyshire but I photograph dogs all over the Midlands in all honesty. Today’s post is all about the lovely Luna a gorgeous Chocolate Labrador who lives over in Kirkby Mallory, Leicestershire. Her photoshoot took place firstly at her home in the garden before we went off to where she is walked locally for a little bit of fun. The latter shots were of her just chilling out in her kennel and I thought she looked rather sweet. Labradors are one of my most popular breeds of dog that I get to photograph and I love them all dearly.
So what happens on a shoot then – well firstly I get to know the owner, ask them questions and what they can expect and ask how the dog behaves particularly if the owner requires some portrait shots to start. I will then get to know the dog a little bit and its behaviour before I start photographing them, getting them used to me and the loud clicks of my camera. It really doesn’t matter if your dog can’t sit still!
So here is a collection of images from Luna’s dog photoshoot.
