Last week I went behind the scenes to get a sneak peek at the Overseal Gala Players’ rehearsal for their upcoming pantomime, Dick Whittington. I’ve never really done anything like this before so it was really out my comfort zone. I went along with my little Fuji camera (less bulky and therefore less noticeable) to capture some candid shots of the rehearsal. I think it went really well. The Theatre group did ask if I could get a group photo of the present cast members for them to use to promote the pantomime in our local newspaper, the Burton Mail. I kindly obliged of course.
It was a lot of fun doing something for the local community such as this amateur Theatre group based in Overseal, Derbyshire. The pantomime will be shown at Overseal Village Hall stage next week with one Show on Friday 23rd February. Two shows on the Saturday (24th, afternoon and evening performance) followed by the final show on the Sunday 25th in the afternoon. If you fancy popping along and supporting the local theatre group, tickets are on sale here. There is limited ticket availability for some shows.
